British band Kaiser Chiefs have collaborated with Wieden + Kennedy London to create a website that allows fans to design their own album cover for the new album, The Future is Medieval. Fans can also create a bespoke selection of tracks, and sell their creations.
The site, kaiserchiefs.com, hosts a user-interactive interface to create unique albums and track listings. You choose the tracks that you want, by plugging wires into a collection of different objects, each representing one of the songs. You then move along to the ‘artwork creator’, where you can choose from a range of pictures and backgrounds to create your unique album artwork.
On completion, you then buy your album and can take the option of selling your bespoke version via the website. For each copy of your album that is sold, you will receive £1 in commission. The site also offers digital ads and posters for you to promote your album via your own website or blog.
