In this collaboration with Nobrow publishers, illustrator John Sibbick shows the art of rendering a huge range of wild animals with a pen is still alive and well.
At the top of his profession for the last 25 years, Sibbick has been one of the finest animal illustrators of his generation and is best known for creating prehistoric landscapes and drawing ancient beasts. He has produced illustrations for a wide range of clients such as National Geographic, Puffin Books, and The Natural History Museum. Here we show his Nobrow collaboration, Flesh and Bone.
It can be leafed through like a normal book or you can open it out to see all ten panels at once. Each side beautifully illustrates the same view of a selection of different animals – only on one side they are how we would expect them to look in their natural environment and on the other, the animals are stripped of all of their skin and flesh to just show skeletons.
